Dian Eka

Dian Eka Mulia, better known as Dian Eka or Dika, was a musician. They were the vocalist and ryhthm guitarist of NEFOS.

General Information

In modern times Dika may be genderfluid, but in the context of their time, there was no such label yet; Dika was ambivalent about their gender. Often they said they are a man, but to Dandy Dika was often lost and torn, claiming that they "don't really feel like a man sometimes".

Narrative-wise, Dika is referred with the they/them pronouns, but due to the time of their life, the people around Dika often used (and still, widely, Dika is referred to) with she/her.

Never claiming any label (again, due to the time period), Dika dated both men and women - notably Fifi Handoyo, who became their most intense affair until the end of their life.

Dika was also famous for severe mental problems, exarcebated with some drugs addiction, and had attempted suicide multiple times before their untimely death in 1983. The judge declared their death as suicide, by means of hanging.
