Etymology
- Elias is a Greek variation of the name Elijah. It is the name of the prophet in the Northern Samaria, and means "God is my king".
- Nagarjuna is the name of an Indian Buddhist philosopher. It can mean "hero", "confidence", "power", "bright", "peacock", "white snake", "strong", and "brave".
- In a Hindu tale, Arjuna gains the title Nagarjuna after defeating The King of Nagaloka.
- The name Jasa is an Indonesian adaptation of the Chinese surname Cáo (曹), usually transliterated as Djau. Jasa itself means “merit” or “service”.
- Due to the racist New Order law, Chinese-Indonesians have to change their names to (what they deem as) Indonesian names to avoid association with the communists. This results in Chinese surnames being localized. Elias' Chinese surname is Cáo (曹) (吳), which became Jasa emphasizing the Djau transliteration.
- The Chinese character 曹 has several meanings. It can mean “plaintiff and defendant”, “fodder”, “division department of the central government in ancient times”, “official”, or “group, team”.
